Excellence in Sustainable and Responsible Jewellery through the prism of Swiss Triple Impact (STI)

In the exquisite world of fine jewelry design and manufacture, Horlyne stands out not only for its exceptional craftsmanship, but also for its deep commitment to the principles of sustainability and corporate responsibility.

Several Acrotec Group companies have recently joined the Swiss Triple Impact (STI) Directory. In particular, Horlyne was highlighted for its deep commitment to sustainability and responsibility. Swiss Triple Impact (STI) is an innovative program that recognizes the importance of the private sector in achieving the Agenda 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). For many companies, the challenge lies in understanding where to start and what actions to take to effectively integrate sustainability into their operations. This is precisely where the STI program comes into its own.

Horlyne’s STI program is based on using the 17 SDGs as a frame of reference. It aims to help Swiss companies, whatever their size or sector of activity, to develop a concrete, tailor-made sustainability strategy.

Environmental Commitment

Horlyne’s commitment to the environment is undeniable. The company has set itself a bold goal: by 2025, it aims to have 100% of its raw materials come from traceable, responsible sources. To this end, Horlyne is working towards Chain of Custody (CoC) certification from the Responsible Jewelry Council (RJC), a remarkable step given the absence of CoC certifications covering its precious metals in 2022. This initiative testifies to Horlyne’s desire to help reduce the environmental impact of the jewellery industry by promoting ethical sourcing practices.

In addition, Horlyne has implemented responsible waste management practices and limits the use of chemicals in its manufacturing processes. Parts washing operations are soap-based, minimizing environmental impact. The water is also filtered to remove metals, while the precious metals are carefully preserved. These concrete actions illustrate Horlyne’s commitment to preserving natural resources and reducing its environmental footprint.

Social Commitment

Horlyne ne se contente pas de briller par son engagement environnemental. The company has also set itself ambitious social objectives. It aims to increase the job satisfaction rate of all its employees to over 80% by 2025, up from 69% in 2023. To achieve this goal, Horlyne aspires to Great Place to Work® certification, a recognition of excellence in human resources management and well-being at work.

Equal treatment of all employees is also a priority for Horlyne. The company is committed to applying predefined pay scales by function within the organization, aimed at eliminating unfair pay disparities. Equal Salary certification, a distinction demonstrating its commitment to pay equity.

Commitment and governance

Ethical governance is another crucial pillar of Horlyne’s ESG strategy. The company is a member of the Convention patronale de l’industrie horlogère suisse (CP), a structure for negotiation and employer-employee dialogue. This membership testifies to Horlyne’s commitment to high ethical standards in occupational health and safety (OHS) and training.

In addition, Horlyne is part of Acrotec’s Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) program. This approach aims to integrate ESG responsibilities throughout the organization, creating value for all stakeholders, including employees, customers and suppliers.
